Firetube boilers work by passing hot gases from some form of heat source that runs through tubes encased in a water-filled shell. This, in turn, will convert the water into steam. They tend to be of a lower cost for businesses to purchase but are better suited to smaller businesses as they are of a smaller capacity.
Watertube boilers pass water through tubes which are then heated by hot gases on the shell side of the tube. The heated water is turned into steam that is used for power. While watertube boilers do offer a higher yield of steam, it will cost you a bit more and is the better option for larger businesses.
